“There is much beauty in this world in the ancient, broken, worn or slightly shabby.   I find joy in exploring the insides, the details, the cracks and crevices, as well as the bright finishes or folds of the form.  Painting simple objects with lots of texture, discovering and describing nature’s geometry and designs, experimenting with traditional materials in nontraditional methods – these are the forms of expression in which I take the greatest pleasure.  Pots, jugs, urns…containers of all sorts are some of my favorite subjects.”
